Massimo A. Santoli is an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant and has been practicing law since 1997. He is duly admitted to practice law in the State of New York, Florida and New Jersey. He is a graduate of: St. John’s University, Summa Cum Laude, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting; Hofstra University School of Law, Cum Laude, where he received his Juris Doctorate; and New York University School of Law where he was conferred an LL.M. in Taxation. Massimo was formerly a Senior Tax Associate in the Tax and Legal Services department of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, one of the most prominent accounting firms in the world, from August 1997 to August 2000. From August 2000 to October 2004, Massimo was a Trusts & Estates Associate with the Law Offices of Jeffrey M. Novick (formerly known as Novick & Heitner, LLP) in Garden City, New York. Thereafter, Massimo established his own law practice in 2004 focusing primarily on estate planning and administration, wealth preservation, succession planning, estate litigation (including contested probate and accounting matters), tax and Article 81 guardianship proceedings. From August 2007 to February 2011, Massimo was an Associate in the Estate & Tax Planning/Probate Law & Estate Administration department of Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP, and then the Associate in charge of the Trusts & Estates department at Ackerman Levine Cullen Brickman & Limmer LLP (now known as McLaughlin & Stern LLP). In March 2011, Massimo re-established his own law practice. In addition, Massimo has been serving as Of Counsel to the law firm of Seltzer Sussman Heitner, LLP with its offices in Jericho, New York, assisting the firm with its trust and estate planning, estate administration, guardianship and whole host of litigation matters. While recognizing the fact that litigation is often necessary, Massimo is a strong proponent of working diligently to find an amicable resolution that benefits all parties involved without the need for protracted litigation. Massimo is also certified to serve as a Guardian ad Litem and Court Evaluator by the Office of Court Administration and has been fortunate enough to serve in such respective capacities in numerous contested and uncontested proceedings. In addition, Massimo is a member of the New York State Bar Association and its Trusts and Estates Law Section and is also a member of the Florida Bar Association and its Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section. Massimo has also served as a mentor in the Lawyers Involved in Kids Education (LIKE) program to promote education and foster growth of elementary school students and as a mentor to Jericho middle / high school students to promote education and adolescent development.
